Collection: Signal Whips

The traditional series signal whips represent a fine standard in design and craftsmanship. featuring the more well known method consisting of a weighted core, belly and overlay with the addition of advanced foundations and a plaited dyneema tail assembly and cracker loop.

The core is lead weighted, over which an 8 plait belly is plaited before the final overlay is plaited over that. the core and belly are both bound with a specially designed foundation consisting of both artificial sinew and dacron.
Signal whips handle differently to snake whips in that the weight is carried further forward inside the whip, so they are more nose heavy than our other snake whips.

The handle pommel is lead weighted and finished with a 9x8 pineapple interweave knot and a convenient miniature loop for easy storage.
The whip is waxed in paraffin to protect the finish, this wax also provides additional resistance to weather and to picking up dirt during use.

Each whip is fitted with a cracker which is suited to its type and length.
The length of the whip is measured from the pommel to the area where the cracker is attached, unlike normal signal whips, it does not include the length of the cracker as these are made to still be replaceable.
